Freiburg/Breisach, 16.04.2024 (PresseBox) - The tension is rising: After an intensive second phase of the Talent Contest for the Pinot and Rock Festival, 15 bands have made it through to the final. With more than 80,000 votes cast, the contest has attracted a great deal of attention. On April 26, the expert jury will announce which three bands will take to the stage at the gourmet festival on July 6.
Originally, more than 100 artists had applied, 30 of whom made it through to the contest phase, which has just ended. Now the 15 acts that collected the most votes by April 14 have been chosen. The finalists include the French alt rock band "Rosaly" from Alsace as well as "The Common Carpets" (psychadelic blues) from Tuttlingen and the queer fronted indie rock band "The Astronaut & The Fox" from Freiburg.
"The response to our Talent Contest was overwhelming. Tens of thousands of votes and a huge response on social media show how much interest there is in the up-and-coming talent. It's fantastic to see how many people are supporting these bands and giving them their voice," says Fritz Keller, initiator of the festival, full of enthusiasm.
Which three bands will perform at the Genussfestival on July 6 will now be decided by the expert jury, consisting of Karola Mohr (Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg), Peter Disch (Badische Zeitung), Prof. Dr. Ludwig Holtmeier (Musikhochschule Freiburg), Maximilian Messerle (GEMA) and Fritz Keller.
The Pinot and Rock Festival not only brings together big stars and up-and-coming talent on stage, but also first-class cuisine and excellent regional wines in the gastro area. This promises festival enjoyment in every respect for visitors from Germany, France and Switzerland!
