Freiburg, 05.01.2024 (PresseBox) - The course preparation in the Chiemgau Arena has been completed and the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding can take place next week as planned - despite the recent mild temperatures. "We are expecting temperatures well below zero and good snow conditions," says Managing Director Timo Gerhold, who was informed about the weather forecast on a daily basis right up to the last minute. "The track will now be spared until the start of the women's relay on January 10, 2024 and training operations have been completely suspended," says Gerhold.
"The appetite for the live biathlon spectacle is huge and interest in all six races is unbroken," reports Gerrit Christiansen from ticketing service manager Reservix. The main grandstand is almost sold out for the weekend days, but there are still remaining tickets for all competition days. The organizers are expecting a total of up to 65,000 spectators in the Chiemgau Arena.
