(Freiburg/Breisach, June 4, 2024) The Pinot and Rock Festival in Breisach am Rhein will celebrate its premiere this summer from July 4 to 7 with a fantastic musical line-up. In addition to music, Pinot and Rock stands above all for first-class wine enjoyment. In the festival's own wine village, wine fans can enjoy a special atmosphere and experience the diversity of the Baden wine landscape. In contrast to the rest of the festival grounds, wine may even be served in real wine glasses here, and there is wine to suit every budget. In keeping with the sunny temperatures of the Kaiserstuhl, wine spritzers will also be served in front of the stages. Whether in the VIP zone, stage area, or Wine&Dine area, wine will provide refreshing moments everywhere.
"Pinot and Rock is representative of great national and international music and brings this together with a first-class wine experience. We are delighted to be able to implement this festival concept here in Breisach, where wine is very important. With our wine partners, we can bring the best of Baden's wine landscape to one place," says festival initiator and winemaker Fritz Keller. His wines from his own winery Franz Keller in Vogtsburg will also be served at the festival.
Some well-known VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates) wineries, such as Weingut Franz Keller, Weingut Dr. Heger and Weingut Stigler, will be presenting their wines at Pinot and Rock. Family-owned Weingut Dr. Heger, for example, has been enriching the wine landscape since 1935 with its headquarters in Ihringen, and Weingut Stigler (family-owned since 1881) is also one of the most traditional wineries in the region. All three are united by a wonderful variety of different grape varieties and wines. In total, over 30 wineries will be offering their wines at Germany's first music and enjoyment festival.
Meanwhile, Pinot and Rock offers the full spectrum of the wine landscape: the Oberrotweiler Winzerverein will present its "Vulkangewächse", the association of young winegrowers from Baden "Generation Pinot" promises a large selection of high-quality wines, while the Naturgarten Kaiserstuhl offers a varied blend from the Kaiserstuhl. And not only wine from the Kaiserstuhl region will be represented; from the Blankenhorn winery in Schliengen to the Weber winery in Ettenheim and Schloss Neuweier, the entire Baden wine landscape invites you to taste and with ALZA Le Vin, an Alsatian winery will also be at Pinot and Rock.
Some well-known organic wineries will also be guests at Pinot and Rock, including the Abril winery in Vogtsburg am Kaiserstuhl. With its 270-year history, it stands above all for sophisticated and sustainable viticulture. "I am very proud that we have succeeded in having such a flagship event in our region. Artists like this in our homeland are simply brilliant. Combining the whole thing with wine makes it perfect, of course. We from the Abril winery are serving our Pino Magma. A wine that reflects our region. It's great to be a part of it and I'm convinced that there is a variety to experience - for all our senses. I'm looking forward to it," says Eva-Maria Köpfer, Managing Director of the Abril winery.
The von Gleichenstein winery, which has been family-owned for almost 400 years and is one of the oldest in the Kaiserstuhl, provides delicious moments with its Burgundy in particular at Pinot and Rock. It also provides the base wine for apros Black Forest Vermouth - winner of the Red Dot Design Award 2021. "We have chosen new, beautiful drinks especially for the Pinot and Rock," enthuses Achim Berger, Managing Director of apros.
Natalie Lumpp, one of Germany's best-known sommeliers and wine experts, is also looking forward to Pinot and Rock: "What a sensational event with a great program. I'm really looking forward to experiencing the greatest rock legends up close and enjoying a great wine! I've always thought that good wines are far too rarely offered at events like this. Pinot & Rock is completely different. Here, we connoisseurs get our money's worth: great music and fantastic wines! We really appreciate that – Pinot & Rock offers the perfect opportunity for young people in particular to learn to appreciate great wines!" SWR TV chef Mira Maurer adds: "The Pinot and Rock Festival combines good food and good wine. And the whole thing is underscored by great international live acts playing fantastic music. I'm really looking forward to it."
