BeReal: My training at Reservix

I'm Laura, 21, and this summer I completed my training as an event manager at Reservix. In this article, I'll take you with me on my journey, show you my highlights (and there were a lot of them!) and tell you unfiltered, in the spirit of the "BeReal" app, which is all about authentic, unposed moments, why my training here was anything but run-of-the-mill.

Okay, let's be real:

When you think of a ticketing provider with 500 employees, you might initially think of a large, anonymous company. But there is much more to Reservix than that: a strong team in which everyone makes an important contribution. And right in the middle of it all are us - the 22 trainees and dual students. We bring a breath of fresh air, new ideas and are perhaps a little louder - and that's exactly what makes it so special here.

From highlight to highlight

Anyone who thinks an apprenticeship is just about making coffee and copying hasn't been to Reservix. From the very first day, it was clear: something is happening here! You travel through a wide variety of departments: from dispatch and event organizer service to marketing and accounting. Each station opens up new perspectives and exciting fields of learning.

A moment that really stuck in my mind? When I packed the first ticket that I had previously put on sale myself. Suddenly the whole process became tangible! That made a lasting impression on me.

Whether it's site visits in Frankfurt to meet colleagues you otherwise only know from the screen, external appointments with our event organizers or an assignment at a festival - the training is super varied.

There are also cool trainee projects that not only create new connections, but also strengthen team spirit. It's guaranteed never to be boring here!

Arrive and feel right at home

You get excited at the beginning, don't you? But the welcome days at Reservix immediately gave me the feeling: This is the right place for me. Even at the interview, the atmosphere was super open and warm, and by the first introductory day with the other trainees at the latest, all my nervousness was gone. (If you want to know more about onboarding at Reservix, you can find out more in the blog post blog post by my colleague Ben).

The cool thing is that you are never alone here. Every trainee has a dedicated contact person in the departments and also the training manager. No matter whether you have a technical question or a personal matter - there is always someone there to listen. In regular feedback meetings, we were always able to honestly say what was going well and where we still wanted to develop. That is simply very valuable.

My journey started in the organizer service, where I got to know the system from A to Z. After that, I made my way through the company. And yes, the lunch breaks together by the Dreisam river in Freiburg are also among the highlights - little rituals that make the job special.

Insights into the world of tickets

In Accounting and Financial Services, I gained a deep insight into financial processes. I learned how money is booked, invoices are created and payments are monitored. It quickly became clear to me that there is a perfectly thought-out process behind every ticket sold so that event organizers can reliably settle their accounts with us.

In the sales teams, I was then able to experience first-hand how important it is to work closely with event organizers. I took part in customer meetings, assisted with presentations and saw how individual advice makes all the difference - because every event is unique. It was really exciting to see how personal support creates real partnerships throughout Germany.

I was particularly impressed by the look behind the scenes at major events - from the Reservix event at the Charles Knie Circus to the box office at the Jazzhaus Freiburg and the VIP stand at the Phoenix Hagen basketball game. Here it becomes clear: ticketing is so much more than numbers and systems. It is emotion, experience and organization in perfection.

Together we are a team: our trainee events

We trainees are not just there, we're involved! We are a really cool community from all locations and regularly plan our own events, such as the "Open Evening" at the Freiburg location - an open evening from us for our friends and families.

A highlight for the entire company every year is the legendary Quizmas at the Freiburg site in the Humboldt HallIn colorful mixed teams, people puzzle, guess and laugh and at the end, the big prize, an Advent calendar for the office, is a reward that provides additional motivation and anticipation.

But there's always something going on during the year too: whether it's an action-packed Mario Kart evening in the office, where ambition is awakened, or a creative Halloween party in the Stage Café, where the costumes are almost as important as the atmosphere. It is precisely these events that make the training something very special in person.

Through such shared experiences, I not only found my own path, but also got to know many other trainees and students. Everyone brings different strengths and stories to the table. Dhis diversity is what makes it so exciting, because we are always learning from each other and growing together as a team.

Many paths, one goal

I became an event manager, but there are so many paths at Reservix. Some of my colleagues have taken off in e-commerce, others are doing a dual degree in event management or are the IT talents of tomorrow. Whether you're a numbers person, a creative mind or an organizational talent - there really is a niche for everyone here

Reservix has a lot to offer - take a look here.

My conclusion: More than just training

Honestly? I didn't just learn how to make events a success here. I've grown with my tasks, taken on responsibility and learned an incredible amount about myself. The open culture and the appreciation you get as a young person here are simply worth their weight in gold.

In the end, it was clear to me that I wanted to stay here. My place is and will remain in the organizer service, my home team during my training and afterwards.

My tip to you if you are thinking about applying: Go for it! Be curious, be bold and enjoy your time. You'll not only get top training here, but also a great team and unforgettable moments.
