Reeperbahn Festival 2024 - and we're right in the middle of it!
This year, the Reeperbahn was once again transformed into Europe's biggest club festival. From September 18 to 21, 2024, representatives of the event industry from Germany and Europe met in Hamburg. We kicked off the festival with our traditional Reservix Opening - a successful start!
Every year, the Reeperbahn becomes the heart of the international music scene for four days - and we are right in the middle of it! Our traditional Meet & Greet at the start of the festival offers the perfect opportunity to see familiar faces, make new contacts and discuss the latest topics in the industry.
One of the economically most important industries Germany
Music accompanies us almost everywhere - whether listening to the radio, streaming, in a café or at live concerts. Not just an emotional experience, but also a significant economic factor! A recent study on the economic importance of the music industry in Germany confirms this with impressive figures: Last year, the industry generated a turnover of 17.4 billion euros and a gross value added of 6.6 billion euros. In addition, around 150,000 people are employed in the music industry.
What is remarkable here is the high degree of independence: around 80 percent of the required inputs are produced within the music industry itself (in the automotive industry, this figure is only 44 percent). This shows how strongly the industry is networked internally and how much it draws on its own resources. With a turnover of 5.6 billion euros, the live sector is one of the pillars of the industry. Events such as the Reeperbahn Festival not only bring music enthusiasts together, but also strengthen the industry and create valuable networks for everyone involved.
And this is where Reservix comes in - because the Reeperbahn Festival and Reservix? They simply belong together!
The Reeperbahn Festival - Europe's biggest club festival
The Reeperbahn Festival is first and foremost an annual music festival, but it includes an extensive program that also includes workshops, panels and a wide-ranging networking event. Under this year's motto "Let The Music Grow", the conference focused on the topics of artificial intelligence, the preservation of grassroots culture, diversity and sustainability. Around 480 concerts as well as various conference sessions and receptions took place between September 18 and 21, 2024. This setup in particular offers us the ideal opportunity to strengthen partnerships and enter into new collaborations.
Our Reservix Opening
We have been inviting people to the Reservix Opening on Wednesdays for nine years now, and our event gets bigger every year. This year, we broke the attendance record again: "With around 500 guests, our event was fully booked for the second time in a row," sums up co-organizer Alexander Herwig. "This shows how strong our position is in the industry and how valuable the personal exchange on this platform is for us."
A special highlight this year: our popular location above the rooftops of the Reeperbahn shone in new splendor! With a mix of Hanseatic charm and a touch of the 70s, we were able to enjoy a great view of the Reeperbahn from the sunny terrace of the "Hamborger Veermaster". Cool drinks and a fine selection of finger food rounded off our reception.
Together into the festival
The personal exchange with the industry is the focus for us - because the Reeperbahn Festival is not only a platform for music, but also for networking and further development of the event industry. Our opening not only offers a great opportunity to discuss current industry topics, but above all to meet in person. "Old and new contacts come together, ideas are shared and partnerships are strengthened," says Key Account Manager Maike Gunkel. She is attending for the third time and is delighted: "Before the official start of the festival, we create a framework for exciting discussions and encounters and start the festival days together."
In addition to our successful reception, we were out and about at the festival with many colleagues from various sales teams and departments. We took part in presentations, panels, workshops and receptions and cultivated contacts with current and potential event organizers. Of course, the focus is not just on having fun (although we had plenty of that). Our aim is to strengthen existing partnerships, get to know new organizers and further consolidate our position in Europe's largest club festival.
